ENGINEERING POSITIONS
TRANSPORTATION ENGINEER
Open positions for Cary, NC, Morgantown, WV and Houston, (Washington) PA offices.
Minimum Requirement:
- 5-10 years experience in the field of transportation design, stormwater calculations, and drainage design.
- Knowledge of MicroStation, InRoads, GEOPAK, highway drainage software
- DOT experience, VDOT and/or NCDOT preferred
- B.S. in Civil Engineering
- EIT required, PE preferred
An individual performing in the role of Transportation Engineer will be expected to perform the following skills:
- Ability to use MicroStation and InRoads to develop designs for the project.
- Capability to train less experienced transportation engineers.
- Sound engineering and technical background in highway design and hydrology/hydraulics.
- Excellent management and quality control skills.
- Experience with contract documents, cost estimating, contract specifications.

ENGINEERING DESIGNER/TECHNICIAN
Open position available in our Morgantown, WV office.
Minimium Requirement:
- 2-5 years experience in the Civil Engineering field with the emphasis on the engery sector, oil and gas a plus (Morgantown office) or the land development sector.commercial experience a plus (Abingdon and Cary office).
- Knowledge of CADD, Microsoft Office, Windows.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to learn new things.
Education:
- B.S. in Civil Engineering, or
- B.S. in Engineering Technology, or
- B.S. in Landscape Architecture
- Suitable experience in related work may be subsituted.
An individual performing in the role of Engineering Designer/Technician will be possess the following skills:
- Ability to use MicroStation/AutoCADD for drainage design, volumetric calculations, site layout and road design.
- Import topographic and survey data to analyze existing conditions of a site.
- Develop a site plan using the computer software provided.
- Create a complete design package which after review and comment can be presented to the regulatory agency or client as a finished product.

CIVIL ENGINEER
Open position available in our Morgantown, WV office.
Minimium Requirement:
- Minimium 5 years experience in the Civil Engineering field with relevant experience in the energy sector oil and gas (Morgantown) or land development and commercial sector (Abingdon).
- Proficient knowledge of CADD, Microsoft Office, and Windows
- B.S. in Civil Engineering
- EIT preferred
An individual performing in the role of Civil Engineer will be expected to perform the following taks:
- Assist projector/client manager with project coordination, workload, schedules, etc.
- Perform and oversee all aspects of design (grading, roads, drainage, etc.)
- Responsible for coordinating, QA/QC review, of construction documents and technical reports.
- Prepare engineers cost estimate.
- Excellant coordination, managerial, organizational skills necessary to maintain project schedules and budgets.

ENVIRONMENTAL POSITIONS
SENIOR ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST
Position available in our Morgantown, WV and Houston (Washington), PA offices.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in the biological field.
- Knowledge of stream/wetland delineation, assessment, and permitting.
- Knowledge and ability to permit stream and wetland mitigation/restoration.
- Knowledge of cultural and ecological coordination of projects.
- Familiar with CWA and/or NC Regulatory Agencies.
- B.S. in Environmental or Biological field
An individual performing in the role of Senior Environmental Scientist will possess the following skills under direct supervision:
- Ability to coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies regarding environmental regulations of specific projects.
- Must be a well-rounded development consultant, with knowledge of engineering, surveying, planning, regulations and other outside influences on projects.
- Ability to proofread their own work and the work of others to provide an excellent product.
- Ability to complete field and office work.
Position Responsibilities:
- Complete field work and reporting necessary for projects.
- Assist technical staff in completing field work and reporting.
- Ability to coordinate with clients and engineers regarding environmental concerns.
- Work independently to complete all environmental taks necessary to complete a project from start to finish.
- Coordinate with supervisor on a regular basis to ensure goals are set and met.

SURVEY POSITIONS
PROFESSIONAL LAND SURVEYOR
Open position available in our Cary, NC office.
Minimum Requirements:
- 10 years' experience in Land Surveying with a minimum of 5 years' field experience and 5 years' with responsible charge.
- Proficient knowledge of CADD, Microsoft Office and Windows.
- B.S. in Land Surveying preferred.
- PLS preferred
An individual performing in the role of Professional Land Surveyor will be expected to perform the following skills:
- Preparing maps
- Preparing surveys
- Writing legal descriptions.
- Providing topographic maps and boundary surveys
- Performing construction calculations
- Performing boundary research and boundary resolution
- Performing GPS adjustments and reports.
A qualified candidates should have the required skills: project management capabilities, use of a computer and excellent communication skills. This position requires the individual to work alone or as part of a team either in the office or in the field.

SURVEY PARTY CHIEF
Open position available in our Morgantown, WV office.
Minimum Requirements:
- 5 years of progressive experience with responsible charge as a party chief.
- Proficient in performing construction staking, geodetic surveys, boundary surveys, and topographic surveys.
- Proficient with the use of conventional and GPS equipment and software.
- Proficient in downloading and processing field data and preparing release files or release drawings.
- LSIT preferred but not required.
- Ability to hold and maintain a valid driver's license.
- High school diploma or equivalent. A degree in surveying or related field preferred.
An individual performing in the role of Survey Party Chief will be expected to perform the following skills:
- Direct the work of one or more survey technicians and meet deadlines by organizing, directing, and maintaining field crew production.
- Perform a variety of in-office and field tasks associated with land surveying and civil engineering projects obtained by the Company, with the ability to thoroughly understand the requirements and scope of each project.
- Follow and comply with, when applicable, Company procedures and State requirements to ensure that field data is in the proper format.
- Communicates with Professional Land Surveyor, the progress of each assignment, by verbal and written communications.
- Ability to work without direct supervision and make technical decisions for projects assisgned, within specified limits of authority.
- Provides and maintains neat and accurate field notes by recording all significant data, as well as supervising the crew's preparation of sketches, notes, and electronic data collection.
- Responsible for boundrary survey calculations and client relations.
- Ensures crew adheres to safety procedures and uses all personal safety equipment provided or required.
- Records time spent on each project, mileage, reports, and field change orders.
- Other duties as assigned.

SURVEY INSTRUMENT OPERATOR
Open position available in our Morgantown, WV office.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent. A degree in surveying or related field is preferred.
- Minimum two years' experience field/office with a Survey/Engineering Firm.
- Must be able to operate survey field equipment, including conventional total station and GPS.
- Ability to hold and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Ability to perform physical work (i.e. strenuous walking, lifting 50-100 pounds, loading and unloading equipment, etc.).
- Ability to extract, understand, and maintain data collected in the field.
- Adheres to safety procedures and uses all personal safety equipment provided or required.
An individual performing in the role of Survey Instrument Operator will be expected to perform the following duties and responsibilities:
- Operating field equipment such as conventional stations and data collectors.
- Providing front-end locations and stakeouts.
- Providing support to tasks assigned by the Party Chief.
Qualified candidates should have field experience in all types of land surveying, including boundary, topographic, physical, and construction stake-out, along with knowledge in data collection and instrument operations. Experience with Total Stations, Topcon and Carlson SurvCE Data Collectors a plus. Working knowledge of Static and RTK GPS desired, but not required.

- Experience with large earth moving projects required.
- Density testing experience preferred.
- Ability to hold and maintain a valid driver's license.
